Saturday, January 14th, we welcome The Stand Brooklyn, for a special tasting of their Winter Seasonal fruit jams and garnishes.
Sister and brother team, Nathalie and Jake, founded The Stand Brooklyn in 2010. Since then, they’ve brought us many lovely flavors of jams and fruit syrups, and now they’ve developed a lovely line of holiday inspired fruit garnishes. Best enjoyed with cheeses, French toast, over ice cream, or even stirred into a cocktail, these flavors are jam packed with fruit and spice.
Come in and let The Stand tickle your tastebuds, with their Spiced Cranberries, Apple Calvados Preserves, and Quince in Cardamom Syrup.
The cheese mongers will be pairing up some of our American made favorites. Expect fresh chevre, aged cheddar and maybe even a blue, each chosen to stand up to The Stand Brooklyn’s seasonal delights.

Come taste some of Brooklyn’s finest pickled vegetables with us, this Saturday, from 3-5pm!
We’re not sure which tart and tangy treats they’ll be bringing, but some of our favorites have been their pickled Ramps, Peppered Okra, Ginger Carrots, and two relishes, Corn, and Green Tomato. Sour Puss always cures the freshest, most seasonal harvests, from local farms so we can expect some great, late summer varieties.
We can’t wait to taste their briny delights!

Celebrate this holiday season with one of the oldest and most famous candy confectioners in France. Mazet is famous for their delectable pralines roasted in salted caramel and almonds and hazelnuts toasted, caramelized, and coated in dark bittersweet or milk chocolate, all of which we’re proud to carry at Provisions. Come by for a sample this Thursday, 12/15, noon-3pm at the coffee bar.
On Thursday December 8 from 5pm-7pm we are happy to welcome Mama O’s Kimchi back to Provisions. Mama O’s is a locally produced kimchi that has been gracing our shelves for some time, but we like it so much we wanted to share with our customers. Not only can you taste the kimchi straight from the jar but you can also try it with some special house-made Korean BBQ sausages!
The whole month of August we’ll be celebrating the ‘left behinds’. Yes, you unsung heroes who don’t get to summer in the Hamptons or call in for summer Fridays. You’re welcome at the Greene Grape wine store every Friday in August from 6-8pm to sample a different summer cocktail. Your tippling ticket:
We’ve got a cool deal on this red wine built for summer. Stop by the wine store tonight, Friday July 29 from 6-8 pm to try it!
Originally retailing for over $20, we were offered 50 percent off the Dominio de Berzal Rioja Crianza 2006 by a distributor making room for a new fall lineup but only if we took it all immediately. So we did. And we’re happy to offer it to you at $11 a bottle.
From tempranillo grapes grown in the Rioja region and aged at least a year in oak barrels and another year in the bottle, Dominio de Berzal Crianza is made in the modern, masculine vein, flush with dark fruit, notes of cedar, cigar box, and sweet spice. This is a full and powerful red with firm tannins making it ideal for summer grilling.
Domino de Berzal Crianza 2006 ($11, $9.35 on 12 bottles or more). Call us at (718) 797-9463 to order!
Join us this Friday from 6-8 at the wine store to try the wine of the week, Campos de Enanzo Navarra Garnacho Rosado 2010, which was selected by the NY Times as the #2 wine in its recent tasting of Spanish rosados. From 6-8 pm Friday, Provisions will also be giving out samples of their fresh, housemade mozzarella.
Of the Campos de Enanzo Navarra Garnacho Rosado 2010 ($11), the Times said: “cherry red color, dry and steely with tangy, earthy flavors.” Made from garnacha (grenache) grapes in the hot plains of the Navarra region in Northern Spain, the Times found it “awfully attractive” and because we’re able to offer it at less than the Times’s suggested price, we’re inclined to agree.
Campos de Enanzo Navarra Garnacho Rosado 2010 $11 a bottle, $9.35 a bottle on 12 bottles or more.
The Campos de Enanzo should arrive in the store today, to reserve yours, call us at (718) 797-9463.

Taste the NY Times’s ‘Best of Tasting’ Lagrein at the wine store tonight, Friday June 24 from 6-8pm along with Sapore del Piave cheese from Provisions.
A month ago, the New York Times wine column raved about Lagrein, “a red grape that can produce fresh, aromatic, highly seductive wines,” that “can be deliciously plummy, earthy and chewy, dark and full-bodied but not heavy, with a pronounced minerally edge.” As if that didn’t have our mouths watering, they described the wine they selected as ‘Best of Tasting’ – Thurnhof Merlau Lagrein 2009 ($20) – as “bright, refreshing, minerally and delicate, with long, lingering flavors.” Then, the kicker. The Thurnhof was not yet available in the US.
Undeterred, we’ve been tracking the Thurnhof’s progress on its journey across the ocean and are happy to announce it has finally hit our shores. Of course with the NY Times rave review, the entire shipment was scooped up immediately but we’re excited to announce that we threw some elbows and managed to get 15 cases of the Thurnhof Lagrein ($20, $17 each for 12 bottles or more) for our customers. This is a limited offer, first come, first served and when we’re out, we’re out. To reserve yours, call us at (718) 797-9463.
