If you find yourself craving for a little pick me up, you need Steve’s Ice Cream’s new flavor, NOLA Coffee and Donuts. Made with Blue Bottle Coffee, which is blended with chicory as in the New Orleans style, and organic sugar, for a distinct Southern style brew. Steve mixes in crumbled donuts for texture, Old Fashions, we think.
This pint’s probably got enough caffeine to keep the party going after a few pints of say, Brooklyn Chcoolate Stout, the star of BKLYN Blackout, another one of Steve’s creations. Then visit The Annex for a hot cup of more Blue Bottle in the morning!
…This is just a friendly reminder that in between shivering and fantasizing that it’s already spring, you should to stop into Provisions at 2pm this Saturday for a tasting of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. She painstakingly crafts her ice creams in flavors both classic (coffee, pistachio, pecan) and startlingly new (lavender, sweet potato, hot toddy, banana cajeta), but using ingredients like fine Askinosie chocolate and milk from Snowville Creamery.
Jeni’s creams are uniformly flavor-intensive, mostly gluten-free, and perfect with a cup of black coffee, so bring a friend!
….In fact, have a lot of it! For the next 10 days we’ll be featuring select items in advance of Valentine’s Day (that’s February 14th, 2013 A.D., fellas) such as this delectable red velvet sandwich cookie, from Brooklyn’s esteemed Butter + Love bakery, featured in New York Magazine’s Shop-O-Matic gift guide!
Check back in the coming days for more tips, and come into Provisions to order a gift basket – one of ours, or a custom-designed one of your own.
Everyone’s favorite gourmet ice cream will be scooping samples here at Greene Grape Provisions! Join us this Friday 6/29 as Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream scoops seasonal flavors of their decadent frozen desserts. If you’ve ever wandered by our frozen case and wondered why Jeni’s pints are so pricey, here’s your chance to taste the Pink Grapefruit Frozen Yogurt, Whiskey & Pecan Ice Cream and other off-the-wall culinary creations. They’ll be here from 2-4pm, so save some room at lunch for a bit of dessert on us!
Celebrate your love for the local, with our I LOVE NY Valentine’s Day Package.
We start with our house made Bacon Jam, a low-and-slow cooked blend of D’Artagnan’s Applewood Smoked Bacon, and Brooklyn’s own Olso Roasters Coffee. Its sweet and spicy flavors and unique texture make for a perfect condiment to most cheeses. Kinderhook Creek, made by Old Chatham in the Hudson Valley, is an all-sheep Camembert style, unctuous and decadent, sweet and just enough salt.
Because no Valentine’s Celebration is complete without chocolate, we’ve chosen the Nunu Chocolates Beer Box, a 6 pack of truffles blended with some of the best microbrews around. Wash it all down with our Borough’s own Brooklyn Brewery Local 2, a Belgian-style Strong Dark Ale, a touch sweet and malty, a dessert in and of itself. The 750ml bottle is big enough to share, nearly as strong as wine, and full of effervescent bubbles.
I LOVE NY 1 4oz Jar House Made Bacon Jam * 1/4 lb Kinderhook Creek 1 750 ml of Brooklyn Local 2 * 6-pack Nunu Chocolates Beer Box
All for just $50.
Add your choice of fresh bread from Sullivan Street or Roberta’s for the complete I LOVE NY experience! Pre-order at the cheese counter!
Saturday, January 14th, we welcome The Stand Brooklyn, for a special tasting of their Winter Seasonal fruit jams and garnishes.
Sister and brother team, Nathalie and Jake, founded The Stand Brooklyn in 2010. Since then, they’ve brought us many lovely flavors of jams and fruit syrups, and now they’ve developed a lovely line of holiday inspired fruit garnishes. Best enjoyed with cheeses, French toast, over ice cream, or even stirred into a cocktail, these flavors are jam packed with fruit and spice.
Come in and let The Stand tickle your tastebuds, with their Spiced Cranberries, Apple Calvados Preserves, and Quince in Cardamom Syrup.
The cheese mongers will be pairing up some of our American made favorites. Expect fresh chevre, aged cheddar and maybe even a blue, each chosen to stand up to The Stand Brooklyn’s seasonal delights.
Greene GrapeWe’re Jammin’… we hope you like Jammin’ too
Celebrate this holiday season with one of the oldest and most famous candy confectioners in France. Mazet is famous for their delectable pralines roasted in salted caramel and almonds and hazelnuts toasted, caramelized, and coated in dark bittersweet or milk chocolate, all of which we’re proud to carry at Provisions. Come by for a sample this Thursday, 12/15, noon-3pm at the coffee bar.
