In a recent NYT’s article about wines from the famed Tuscan region of Chianti, Valdipiatta’s Chianti Colli Senesi ’11 ($17) was picked as ‘Best Value’ among a group of wines from the region.  The tasting panel described the Valdipiatta as “pretty and graceful, with spicy cherry flavor; will improve over the next few years.”  We’ve long found that Chianti is a treasure trove of value-driven, food friendly reds that are pitch perfect for the fall season so we were quick to order 20 cases.  We expect the wine to arrive on Tuesday, October 29th and we are taking pre-orders now.
