San Pietro Lagrein 2009

Tonight, Friday 6-8 pm, we’ll pour our wine of the week, San Pietro Lagrein 2009, served with a savory lamb pissaladiere tart baked by Audrey, our new pastry chef at the Annex.

Earlier this year, the NY Times chose the 2008 vintage of the San Pietro Lagrein as ‘Best Value’ calling it a “spicy, plummy, juicy and succulent” wine that “delivers straightforward pleasure.” At $15 a bottle, we sold out within a week. The 2009 vintage just arrived and we’re excited to say it still has the pleasant mineral notes and balanced acidity that make this wine such a food-friendly red. And without the white hot media spotlight, we were able to negotiate a discount, which we’re passing along. Combined with our 15% case discount, your wine is almost 30% off last year’s price.

San Pietro Lagrein 2009 $12.75, $10.84 for 12 bottles or more. Limited quantity, offer good only while supplies last.
