Whole Grain Milling Tortilla Chips are made on a family run farm and mill in Welcome, Minnesota by Doug and Lin Hilgendorf. The farm has been certified organic since 1989 and uses Hi Lysine corn for their tortilla chips. Hi Lysine corn contains high amounts of essential amino acids and has almost double the protein of normal corn, nearly equivalent to the protein in meat or milk. The chips are made using only organic safflower or sunflower oil and the corn is stone ground making the chips actually taste like fresh corn! Whole Grain Milling Tortilla Chips are generally only available in Minnesota and surrounding areas but we have been fortunate enough to have the mill ship them directly to us. They are a perfect pairing for our house-made pico di gallo salsa and/or guacamole!
