Given the opportunity to offer this red Southern Rhone wine from the blockbuster 2007 vintage at $15 (25% off the original price of $20), we bought it all.  When you taste it, you’ll see why (and you’ll also see why despite the fact that we haven’t put the wine out yet, we’ve already sold quite a bit – to staff!).

If you’re not familiar with the 2007 vintage in the Southern Rhone, google it.  You’ll find uniform agreement that growing conditions made this “the vintage of a lifetime” producing “excellent wines” of “exceptional value.”  True to form, Gassier’s Nostre Pais 2007 brings a nose of truffles, licorice, earth and blackberries and a long, rich, full-bodied texture with ample but softened tannins and what one critic called “an overall impression of opulence.”  The wine arrives just in time for the cold weather dishes it will complement so well.  Roasts, braises, lamb & beef stews – all perfect partners for this delicious red.
