Today’s a snow day which means sledding in Fort Greene Park and trying to entertain the wee ones. Here’s an easy recipe for play dough using pantry staples we were handed down from our neighbor and mommie mentor, Liz. Enjoy!
Ingredients
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 cup water
2 tablespoons oil
food coloring
Directions
In pan, heat oil. Add other ingredients then water. Stir constantly until dough pulls away from the pan (approximately 3 minutes). Turn off heat, cool dough then add food coloring and knead (or have the kids knead) to mix in.
Dough should last a couple of days if stored in airtight containers in the fridge.
